Woody and Buzz Lightyear come across a wide variety of toys during the course of the “Toy Story” films, but some of the creepiest looking ones were the mutant toys of Sid’s room. Those visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios can also come face to face with a few of them as they wait in line at the “Woody’s Picture Shootin’ Corral” meet and greet location on Pixar Place. As part of the queue, there are several photographic backdrops that allow guests to recreate scenes from the first two installments of the popular Disney•Pixar movie series, including one representing Sid’s room.
Consisting of parts from different toys combined together, Sid’s mutant toys serves as unwilling expressions of their owner’s twisted artistic abilities. One of them, known as Babyface, is comprised of the shaved head of a baby doll and a spider-like body made out of an Erector Set and can be found peeking out from behind an over-sized milk crate. While Babyface and his fellow mutants may appear frightening (and certainly put some fear into Sid when he finally saw them come to life), Woody learned over the course of his time in Sid’s room that they’re actually a group of friendly and helpful group of toys. Just goes to show that you should never judge a book (or a toy) by its cover.
