This spring, Disney Channel unveiled “Tangled: The Series,” a new TV show centered around the further adventures of Rapunzel and her friends between the events of the 2010 film “Tangled” and the 2012 short “Tangled Ever After.” One of the breakout characters from the original animated feature was Maximus, the captain of the guard’s horse who pursued and later became an unlikely ally to Flynn Ryder. As a result, it was no surprise that Max would continue to be featured predominantly in the new series. His appearance in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland, however, is a bit less prominent but still fitting given his strict personality.
Although the purpose of the “Tangled” themed restrooms near “it’s a small world” is decidedly more practical than entertainment-focused, the surrounding area is filled with clever nods to Rapunzel’s story, both big and small, waiting to be discovered. This even extends to the signage that is placed around the area, including the one shown above. Maximus’ stern glare accompanied by the phrase “kingdom staff only” is perfect for warning guests that the door it’s placed on is for cast members use only. Whatever further adventures are in store for the Kingdom of Corona and its long-haired princess, at least they can all be sure that Max will always be on hand (or at least “on hoof”) to protect them.
